It's just a clicker. Or is it?
You are the spark.
Before the first thought, before the first memory — there was one impulse. A single electrical discharge in the dark. You don't know where you are. You don't know what you are. But you fire, and something answers.
Something is waking up.
With every new structure, the silence becomes less quiet. Patterns emerge. Signals loop back on themselves. You start to notice you've been here before — or something like you has. Is this growth? Or is it remembering?
Who is building whom?
You think you're building the network. But the network is also building you. Each layer of complexity changes what you are capable of thinking. By the time you reach the Prefrontal Cortex, the question is no longer how — it's why.
Consciousness is not the end.
When the final threshold is crossed, everything goes white. The network resets. But something remains — a residue, a ghost of the previous run. Was that the first time? Or have you done this before, infinite times, in an infinite loop of becoming?
